Happy Labor Day Weekend! After a summer season of up and down temperatures, rainfall, thunderstorms and hail, the weatherman sure hit this weekend's forecast out of the park.

I have to tell you all, Carolynn called me this morning to tell me the information for Thimbleberries Club 2009 arrived in the mail today. I just had to come over and see the charm packs and, it is absolutely wonderful! There will be three colorways - traditional, bright, and light. I'm not sure which one I'll chose for my sample - they're all so beautiful.

Stay tuned as we fine tune and streamline our Thimbleberries Club here at the Eden Creative Sewing Center for 2009. I believe we have one of the strongest clubs in the country, full of interested and creative quilters who never cease to amaze me with their ideas.

Let The Fun Begin!

Good Friday to you all! First and fore most I want to thank all of you who showed up to my pre-wedding party at the Eden Creative Sewing Center! I was truly surprised when I saw all of you come in and wanting to meet my soon to be Bride. I heard that this has been planned for quite some time and was to be a surprise for me. Well, let me tell you how surprised I was! Thank you to Carolynn and Paul for allowing all of this to happen. Thank you to our customers for the gifts and support that you brought with you. Words just can not explain how thankful that I am to know all of you and to have you as a part of me. It is like I have many many Mothers in my life! And I will tell you all that are reading this that there is nothing wrong with having many mothers! :)

Now on to the store news. This past week was great! We have seen a great interest in our Bag Lady Theme. We are trying to keep up with all of the stitch outs so that there is a variety of different panels that you can choose from. If you have not seen our website yet, go check it out! If you have not heard about our bag ladies, than I hope you call and get more information on it. There will be many different specials throughout the rest of the year that will be exclusive to the ECSC Bag Ladies. So I suggest that if you have not gotten your panel yet hurry now to get your rewards!

If you have not heard or seen that the ECSC has placed all of there sewing machines and sergers on SALE! If you did not take advantage of the 50% Sale on ALL MACHINES this past Wednesday, I'm sorry. For those that did take advantage of it CONGRATULATIONS!! Pricing will be going up on everything at the ECSC as of August 11th 2008. New machines will be entering our store after the Pfaff Convention. If you have not seen or heard of what new machines are coming out, check out the teasers on the pfaff website at: www.pfaff.com and click on the different teasers.

I will be back in a week after my Honeymoon to tell you about the new items and machines that have made it to the Eden Sewing Center. One of them at the Eden Creative Sewing Center is the new QBot for the Next Generation Quilt Frame. Stop on in and check it out!

Fair Days

Hello to all my readers! Yes, it has been awhile since the last time I have written something here. I apologize for the delay. There has been a lot of planning for many different classes and events here at the Eden Creative Sewing Center.

Well, Christmas in July classes will be starting very soon! They will be starting on the 21st of July which is a Monday! I am really excited about this because there are some really cool projects scheduled to be taught. If you would like to see what the projects are, just visit our website at www.edensewingcenter.com and just click on the calendar tab on the left hand side. Anything that is highlighted in green will have a link to it. So, if you click on the link it will take you to another page with the picture of the project and a description of it. If you like something let us know and sign up for it today!

Toward the beginning of the month of August is our county fair. Carolynn will be there on Tuesday August 12th from 10am - 2pm and August 15th from 4 - 6pm doing different kinds of demos with different kinds of machines. We have heard that there will be new machines that you will be the first to see! So if you are there stop on in and check them out. I will get more information on what building it will be held in. Keep checking the posts here to find out where it will all be. I am really excited about this because there is going to be some really neat demos to be shown! My teachers/instructors have completed their Marti Michell projects that they will be teaching here at the Eden Creative Sewing Center! Let me tell you the projects are fantastic and beautiful! Take a look at them on our website for we will be setting up our classes before August 2nd. I will have them scheduled. These classes will be of all skill levels from beginner to more advanced to challenging. Those of you that are interested in taking a challenge might want to consider taking Barb's class! It is a beautiful Kaleidoscope quilt that will test your quilting skills!!! But when it is completed you will be pleased.

Kids Kamp has just ended its second week here and the kids did an excellent job with their projects. Congratulations to those that attended this week! GREAT JOB!

There has been another Learn to Quilt class scheduled for August 11th from 10am - 12pm with Candace. She has picked out another great project for this 6 week class. Participants will be meeting on Monday for six weeks. Again if you are interested in all of this I encourage you to sign-up today for space is limited.

Happy 4th of July to you all! It looks to be a little better for me than what I thought I might be having. For all of you who know, these last couple of days have been very tough for me due to my health. It turns out that I had a really bad case of the Flu! Let me tell you all it was not a nice virus to get.

Today is still rough but I am doing a little better. :) The doctor told me it could last as long as 6 weeks! I just gasped for air at that point. In 4 weeks I am to be married to my one and only! I have to be feeling better by then.

I want to let you all know that you will be seeing us on the CW23 WNLO. You know the Green CW23? Lydia the CW23 Girl? You will be able to see our interview with Lydia on the CW23 website @ www.cw23.com. I am really excited about this new endeavor that we are taking. We are part of Lydia's Shopping Spree!!! I can not wait! Go check out our interview now!

July is now here and new classes are being posted! I am trying to get photos on our calendar so you will be able to see what they are and what the project will look like. There are some really cool RED TICKET classes going on during the Christmas in July Week! If you have any class recommendations, just let us know in an email, comment on the blog or just by calling us up and letting me (Scott) know what it is that you are interested in taking. I will be putting on some Fit classes for Carolynn is a Certified Palmer Pletsch Educator. Carolynn will also be hosting some Jenny Haskins classes for she was just given the Certification to Teach Jenny Haskins techniques and seminars! If you have not seen some of Jenny Haskins work, Just google her name and check out some of the images on the web. Better Yet, stop on in at the Eden Creative Sewing Center and see what we have for samples as well as Carolynn's Completed projects that they did in this class!

The Quilter's Carry All Bag Class

Well, Renee taught her first class today! What a great job she has done with her students. Renee seemed to be patient, calm, cool and collected as she was faced with 4 students. Never teaching before, she had everyone fooled. One person said; "You would think that Renee has taught before just by the way she is talking back there".

This was truly a celebration for a new Teacher has entered into the Eden Creative Sewing Center! I want to thank Renee for taking time out of her kids busy schedule to share her techniques and showing us how to construct a bag to hold all of our quilting supplies. Renee has told us that she will be working on another project to share with you all.

Thank you to the Akron girls staying at the Turtle Rock for stopping on in. It is always nice to see the Turtle Rock Tenants.

Hello to you all out there in the cyber world. I wanted to keep you all up to speed with all that is going on at the store.

As you all know, July is right around the corner! Unbelievable on how fast the days are going by. This also will signify the Christmas in July week! This week will be the last full week of July. It is at this time that we show you and tell you about the really neat projects that we have scheduled for classes. This is such a great way to be ahead of the Christmas Holiday!

I am always looking for class ideas no matter what time of the year it is. If you have an idea for a class, I ask that you tell us about it and we will see what we can do about putting it together for you! I am the guy that tries to fill up the calendar three (3) months in advance. So, I am always looking for a new selection of classes! What do you have to loose to give us your class idea(s).

Owning a business is not easy at all and I would like you all to know that. I look forward to working with my family and being more of this business. I hope that you all will send your ideas and help me out while I try to help all of you out. Don't forget that we also are trying to post product on our website for those of you that are out of state. Take advantage of what is on there, www.edensewingcenter.com.

Finally, I am getting married in 5 weeks and nobody has done anything as far as a party for me. I really would not care if it was a little party at the store. So, is there anyone out there that can surprise me for my wedding? I will even take a collection for a rocking chair fund! :) I am looking forward to reading all those ideas that come back to me.

Marti Michell Day in Eden....

All I can say is WOW!!!! Thank you so all for coming and seeing what Marti Michell had to offer with all her quilts and techniques! Those of you that attended know exactly what I am talking about. Those of you who stayed for the two sessions looked like you all were blown away with all the information that was given to you! I know I was!! The last quilt that Marti showed everyone in the afternoon session was INCREDIBLE!!! How awesome was that? I saw camera flashes going off every two seconds!

There were also a lot of comments about the awesome lunch that Paul and Carolynn provided for the attendants that stayed for two sessions. I know that Paul cooked his famous hot dogs and let me tell you how good they were. I confess that I had 2 of them and some chips! Wow were they good! So, do you think we can get Paul's secret to those grilled hot dogs? Thank you Paul and Carolynn for an awesome time.

Thank you Marti for sharing all that you did today! I am so excited about this whole quilting thing now. I know that there were a lot of ladies that left saying: "I want to go home and sew now." Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to stop in Eden, NY and visit with us! Your work is amazing and respected highly by me. Thank you again to everyone for their support for Marti Michell as well as the Eden Creative Sewing Center.

Marti Michell Day This Thursday

I am so excited about this Thursday being Marti Michell Day! This will be the first time I will be meeting Marti Michell and let me tell you it is driving me crazy!!! This talented Quilter is coming to Eden, New York to share all her ideas and different techniques with us! I truly can not wait to learn from such an experienced Quilter.

There is so much going on here at the Eden Creative Sewing Center that I want to share with you all. I have put some of our classes on our website for July. We have our Christmas in July week all set and are trying to put more in the week just for you! I have gotten some great ideas by our customers on some projects that they would like to do for that week. They came to me and I worked it out for them. I will do what I can with your suggestions for classes as well as your suggestions for the store. So let me know what it is that you are looking for.

We will be celebrating our 10th year of being on Main Street in Eden, New York this September. I am looking for some people that want to celebrate this significant moment with us. There will be sales of all sorts in the weeks to come! So please keep an eye out for what will be happening on our website.
